James Campbell
James Campbell is a Winnipeg-born musician and arranger with a lifelong love of vocal music. His musical journey began at age three in the Orff Music for Children program, where he first discovered the joy of making music with others — a passion that only grew through years of performing in choirs, bands, and musicals at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. It was there, under the direction of Cynthia Wahl, that he fell hard for vocal jazz, performing with the groups DMCIce and Absolute Zero. He later studied classical voice under Mel Braun at the University of Manitoba.
James joined Those Guys in 2011 and has been singing and arranging with the group ever since. For him, a cappella is the perfect art form — nothing but voices, harmony, and the particular magic that happens when a group of people make something beautiful together.
