Bernie, the founder of THOSE GUYS, brings a powerful tenor voice and dramatic flair to the group’s harmonies. With a background in theatre, having performed with Theatre by the River, White Rabbit Productions, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, and Rainbow Stage, Bernie is a captivating performer with a knack for drawing audiences in.
Known for his emotional performances, Bernie isn’t afraid to bare his soul and connect deeply with the audience. You might even catch him shedding a tear during a solo. He thrives on the energy of live performances and cherishes the sense of community and belonging that THOSE GUYS fosters.
Bernie enjoys meeting new people and, of course, a good hug.

Ever since he was a little boy soprano jamming out to the Bee Gees and the Backstreet Boys, Kieran has loved sharing and experiencing the joy of music. From choir, chamber singers, and high school musicals at MBCI, to an obligatory stint in a Winnipeg basement alt-rock band, to even more choir with Sonolux and Ecco Singers, he is always chasing the high notes in music and in life.

Dane Bjornson is a singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who has been a familiar face in the Those Guys universe for years from sharing the Burton Cummings Theatre stage with them in 2013 as part of the Show for the Philippines, to starring in the group’s “Everybody Wants To Be In Love” music video in 2017.
As a solo artist, he’s released 2 EPs (Lucky Day, 2012; Wondering, 2020) and 8 singles (Fallin’, 2023; Nothing At All, 2022; etc.) under his own name. He has performed at venues all across Canada, sharing stages with acts such as Down With Webster, Said the Whale and Austin Mahone. Notably, he participated in the only season of YTV’s The Next Star: Supergroup as a member of the boy band Electric Ave in 2014.
A graduate of MacEwan University with a Bachelor of Jazz and Contemporary Popular Music (majoring in Recording and Production), Dane brings a technical edge to the ensemble’s vocal blend. Away from singing harmonies with some of his best friends, he is busy working on his solo project, No Metro, which he launched in October of 2025 with his first single Showmance – a song that carries 2000s-inspired pop-rock reminiscence with a blend of synths, guitars, and in-your-face vocal harmonies. He’s been featured on CBC Radio 1 and earned social media nods from his musical influences, Marianas Trench.
With a background rooted in professional musical theatre (Rainbow Stage, MTYP) and a third-generation legacy in education, Dane balances his life on stage with a passion for teaching. Whether he’s crafting intricate vocal arrangements in the studio or performing at fringe festivals across Canada, Dane’s career is defined by a love for high-energy performance and cinematic storytelling.

Ben Campbell studied education and music at the University of Manitoba and is now a high school music teacher when he is not on stage or in rehearsals. He has always loved making a cappella music because of the vast potential of sounds and harmonies which can be created.

Derek has been singing for as long as he can remember, and wouldn’t trade singing with Those Guys for anything. He also enjoys singing in choirs, theatrical productions, and while playing his guitar. Derek is drawn to the power that music seems to have to connect people to each other, especially when experienced live. He has a theatre degree from the University of Winnipeg, and is a founding member of Theatre by the River. Derek also plays a variety of rec sports and owns more board games than he has time to play.

Sheldon has been singing with Those Guys since 2009. However, in the fall of 2011 he had to move to Vancouver, BC. This decision was made with a heavy heart but in doing so, he was able to dedicate himself to his other passion, drawing. While in BC, Sheldon was fortunate enough to participate in art shows, comic conventions and work alongside other like-minded visual artists. After achieving all his goals in BC, Sheldon enthusiastically moved back home to Winnipeg in the fall of 2016. He’s incredibly happy to be back on stage jamming with his much missed family… Those Guys.

When Walker was a child, gleefully letting his voice be heard during a hymn at church, his mom leaned down to him and kindly said “You know… you’re not really singing the notes.” This moment caused an epiphany — already able to read music from piano lessons, Walker had somehow failed to realize that the human voice can also change tones based on notes written on a page. Armed with this knowledge, he started singing in his junior high choir and hasn’t stopped since.
Walker’s first show with Those Guys was opening for Boney M in the winter of 2022, and has sung on stage with The Ripperz, JP Hoe, and The Eagles. All as part of backup choirs, but it still counts. He’s been a fan of Those Guys since 2012, and couldn’t be happier to sing with his dear friends for years to come.

James Campbell is a Winnipeg-born musician and arranger with a lifelong love of vocal music. His musical journey began at age three in the Orff Music for Children program, where he first discovered the joy of making music with others — a passion that only grew through years of performing in choirs, bands, and musicals at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. It was there, under the direction of Cynthia Wahl, that he fell hard for vocal jazz, performing with the groups DMCIce and Absolute Zero. He later studied classical voice under Mel Braun at the University of Manitoba.
James joined Those Guys in 2011 and has been singing and arranging with the group ever since. For him, a cappella is the perfect art form — nothing but voices, harmony, and the particular magic that happens when a group of people make something beautiful together.

Matt Baron plays the role of “human drum machine”, an a cappella staple. Since high school, he’s been a lover of vocal music, and has been involved in many choirs and vocal groups. During his teens, he worked to recreate drum sounds using only his voice, which now baffles and delights listeners. In 2016, Matt graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from Canadian Mennonite University, where he specialized in classical vocal performance. He also writes music, and performs on keyboards with the Winnipeg indie band FIINN. In short, this guy craves and consumes music of all genres, from hip-hop, to jazz, to experimental. Matt is honoured to be part of Winnipeg’s famous music scene, and can often be caught grooving out at shows around town.
